DIY Bleached Denim vest
wore it: Icia and Cheska’s 17th Birthday. :) :>
The vest is originally a denim jacket, it was just hanging there at the end of my closet. So I thought, where the hell would I wear this jacket and then bwalah. =))
1. First, if you already have a denim vest lying there, good for you. If you don’t have any and just, like me, saw that hideous thing at the end of your closet, take it out, cut the sleeves. (it’s your choice up to where you’d like to cut it)
2. After cutting the sleeves, soak the vest on a tub full of water with the amount of bleach you want. (Mine was half a cup) Soak it for about 2 hours. (I soaked mine for around half a day, it depends on you how long you’d like to soak yours, the longer the lighter the shade of the denim.)
3. After the soaking process, take the vest , put it in the dryer for an hour.
4. If you want your vest to look frayed, fray the denim with a sandpaper to get a rough look. If you want it simply bleached, then you’re done. :)
A lot of ripping, destruction and a plain white tee
I was pretty crazy about Childhood Flames’ deconstructed shirt which she blogged about and made a DIY entry about it. And it was also a part of one of the outfits that was featured on Teen Vogue March 2009 about fashion blogging.
Boy was I crazy. And I started to watch her v-log on the said shirt, and tried to do it. I haven’t really found a perfect tee yet, but I practiced it on one of my shirts, which was awesome. I now know how to do it. All I need is the perfect shirt.
A plain white cotton tee, who knows where I can buy one?
The Big Reveal
I love altering stuff. From a tattered dress to a cute skirt, from a big dress to a high waisted skirt, I love altering them all.
And here’s another one. A vintage night gown for pregnant mothers (which I bought for only 50.oo around $1, @ Baguio City’s ukay-ukays) it turned into a…
form-fitting dress! I’m still thinking how to wear this more casually. I think with a beaten leather jacket. Any suggestions?
Oh, and if you do know any interesting sites, blogs or designers out there please do tell! I’d love to see some really cool people over the net!
Santino: Bro!
I love Pamapanga’s churches. They’re so antique and beautiful. I love the place, everything! From the fields, the churches and the food. We went to a lot of different churches. Yes, this is what you call, Bisita Iglesia. A Filipino, uhh, belief, tradition? I dunno.
I was holy for that day. Quite.
Went to the little amazing church @ Baclaran, Pampanga where the local tv show, May bukas pa, was shoot. See the photo below? They said, due to the eruption of the infamous Mt. Pinatubo, half of the church was buried with lahar.
(That’s the half of the original church. Scary.)
What I wore: dress altered to a skirt; vintage, black shirt; Erstwhile, green snakeskin bag; vintage, black belt; sister’s, black cocktail ring; thrifted, black shoes with gold buckles; sale, Ray-Ban knockoffs
Here’s the thrifted dress that I altered to a skirt. It was too big on me. As in, super BIG.
I didn’t try it that’s why.
Stupid.
