Looks like it came from a fashion editorial, no?
Well, it’s not.
Its from the blog of an awesome fashion blogger (who’s a Filipino too!), Noelle Chantal. I love her since she dropped a lovely comment in yours truly’s blog.
It’s been a while since her last outfit post. And this photo is just one of her many lovely posts on her blog, filled with beautiful places plus her stunning combination choices of clothes, this blog is worth reading for.
See her blog, Noelle Chantal.
Does Annette Pehrsson rings a bell? Or maybe Popsongs do?

In the world of Deviantart, users might know her behind the username ~popsongs. Well, if that rings a bell, you might know she’s one great photographer, with a knowledge in photography from film to digital to polaroids.
Gaining 300,000+ pageviews since she joined Deviantart 2 years ago, this 20 year old Swedish experimental photographer, loves her photographs in black and whites to really poppy colors like red and yellow.
Her photographs show movement, which might be really rare to find. Also her love for her cats, her boyfriend Leo to pretty dress shows in her photos. Here’s a little Q&A I did with her.

Name:Annette Pehrsson
Age: 20
Location: Halmstad, Sweden
Nationality: Swedish
What is photography to you?
For me, photography is a way to express emotions or ideas that I couldn’t possibly show in any other way. Another thing is that I like to see my photographs as a personal journal which I can look back into any time I want.
What triggered you to take photography?
At first I kept on taking photos as a journal, then it became more of a passion which led to me trying to be more creative and attending an education in photography, which is the best thing I’ve done in my life so far.
Where do you find your inspiration?
Movies, wallpapers, patterns, clothes (I really like dresses, haha) and generally browsing through other people’s photographs.

Vintage or labeled?
Definitely vintage, it’s more personal that way.
What is beauty to you?
Beauty that isn’t obvious. Little details in a face, as an example. And I love light, the light from a sunrise or sunset coming through a window is one of the most beautiful things.
Name three things that you love the most.
Leo, my cats and my polaroid.

I do remember that I commented on one of your works way back in Deviantart and you said that you’re fortunate that you’re living in the countryside, with the trees and all, can you further explain this?
I think it’s wonderful to live on the countryside, there’s always new places to explore and of course a lot of locations for taking pictures. I do get tired of it once in a while though, I’ve been here for twenty years and in a way I can’t wait to move to a bigger city, but I will definitely miss it, and come back as often as I can.
What do you like most about photography?
That’s a hard question. I love both to create and to look at other people’s work, and I love seeing photographers who have found their own style. Another thing is all the different techniques you can work with. Digital is obvious greatness, but film and especially polaroids fascinates me. It makes me want to experiment, and I can definitely say that this is worth so much to me.

Updates! Updates!
Well, as all of you might know, checking all the links on my blog is what I do everyday (almost). And today was no different, until I found this beautiful site from Tin Iglesias’ blog: Tongueinchic.com.
I once featured Tin Iglesias (the eccentric art student from UST) here on my blog because of her gravity-defying style. And for the same reason why I featured her, Tongue in Chic now has a fabulous article about her, too!
Plus, Noelle Chantal’s been featured on Shop it to me!
Anyway, the main point of this post is to tell you that I’m going after an internship on TongueInChic.com! Yes, I know I’m not a writer and all (well, I’ve been on my grade school years but that’s lightyears ago!) but it wouldn’t hurt to try! And the site is so fabulous, I’d love to be part of it! So please do cross your fingers for me!

Her closet looks like heaveeen…
(Yes, Im trying to sing here. Moving on…)
Well, I do think so. From her fabulous posts at Chictopia, I just can see it is.
I love everything that she has. I love her shoes, her bags (especially the Chanel ones!), and also I think she got the perfect pants, tees, blazers, she got everything, spot on.. almost everything from my dream closet!
This girl just got freakin’ wonderful beautiful sense of style! And she’s just got all of it, from clothes, to a killer collection of to-die-for shoes to her undeniable love for the arts and ofcourse, a keen eye for style. I envy her. Grr. But nevermind me, just check out my quick interview with this wonderful girl!
Name? Tin Iglesias
Age? 18
Occupation? Art Student
School? University of Santo Tomas
Location? Quezon City, Philippines
Who are your style icons?
Lou Doillon, Alexa Chung, Lily Donaldson, Miroslava Mikheeva Duma and Kate Moss to name a few.
What do you think is/are an essential/s on one’s wardrobe?
Denim jeans that fit perfectly is an item that should be in every woman’s closet. Relaxed, simple and sexy – denims can be casual or elegant, depending on how pieces are mixed together. Also, the little black dress is a big deal in a woman’s closet. The black dress would be the default choice for all formal occasions. Fashion trends come and go and hemlines move up and down, but the little black dress will always be in vogue.
Best place to shop?
I like to shop at H&M, Zara, Mango, Topshop, Rockwell’s Archeology Wing and The Ramp Crossings in Shang. I also buy stuff from department stores, bazaars and thrift shops. Additionally, I shop a lot abroad!
Biggest splurge?
I bought more than 5 pairs of shoes and a lot of clothes during my last trip to Hong Kong!
Trend that you want to have a comeback?
Everything in the 1920’s - era of flappers, molls and gangsters. From fabulous flapper and fringe dresses to gangster suits. From cloche hats to honey beige and rose morn colored stockings.
What never gets out of style?
One can never go wrong with plain staple pieces like casual camis, tank tops and tees in solid neutral colors; white button-down blouse, black cashmere cardigan and dark blue or black fitted jeans. They’re classic pieces that are enduringly chic and never go out of style.
What influences your style?
The people I come across with everyday and my travels abroad. Catalogues of product shots, magazines, blogs and runway shows are estimable inspirations as well.
What’s your no-fuss (emergency) outfit?
A crisp white shirt, dark colored jeans, and mod shoes. I just toss on some aviators or sunglasses to give myself and my outfit an edgy and sophisticated look.
What do you dream to be?
I dream of becoming a fashion designer or working in some facet of advertising arts.
Do you have a “ritual” when you dress-up?
I oftentimes plan my outfit a day ahead of time. Whatever I’m doing that day should influence my choice.
P.S.
Speaking of Chictopia, please, please, please don’t look at my Chictopia, Weardrobe and Modepass accounts (as of now), I haven’t opened them since ever. I’m lame when it comes to all my online accounts, I don’t know what account I should open first. Thank god, I have blog. It’s, well, fun-er.
Anyway.. instead of browsing mune just go to Tin’s chictopia, and dear lord, you’d be drooling over her fantastic mix of clothes! Oh, here’s some of my best Chictopia sites:
http://www.chictopia.com/whatswithamy
http://www.chictopia.com/everyoneisugly
http://www.chictopia.com/teenugly
http://www.chictopia.com/coedugly
http://www.chictopia.com/cammiler
okay, honestly, that’s not all of it. I’ve got LOADS. (Yes, that’s what I do most of the time, researching for other people.) But as of now, I only have the remaining 2 weeks studying for my college exams this year, so I’d be updating more and more pretty soon, more new interesting sites all around the blogosphere. but ofcourse, if you do have other fantastic sites on your minds (well, techinically internet explorers), do drop me a message and I will love to write a post about them, style related or not, I’d be happy to see it!

Who is Elyoo?
Who is Elyoo?
For me, she’s an Asian version of The Cherry Blossom Girl. Why? Both of them owns a wide collection of accessories and gorgeous clothes (that I envy!) and both of their blogs hides a story, a wonderful story that their photo can only give you. (I, myself, had a hard time picking photos from her blog!) But of course there’s something about Elyoo that makes her far, uniquely different from Alix of The Cherry Blossom Girl.
Maybe it’s her taste on things, or how she works her clothes or just because she’s plainly Elyoo. Go to her blog: http://whoiselyoo.wordpress.com/ and see it for yourself. Oh, and currently she’s working on an upcoming fashion line, that everyone in the blogosphere should be dreaming/talking about.
And do you know why I love her style so much? She loves photography! Her unique intake of style will make you wonder “how the hell can she do that?!”. I mean, she can wear 5-10 skirts all in one and show you a fabulous Victorian-esque gown! And she can make a dress/gown in just 10 minutes! And she has a wide collection of quirky glasses! Plus we share the love for local ukay-ukays! Want to know more about her? Go to Whoiselyoo or just read my quick interview with her below!
Name: Elyoo
Age: 23
Location: Quezon City, Philippines
What/Who made you start a blog?
Mainly boredom. I used to work from home, so I use my spare time to play around with my clothes and I just happen to have a camera with me and then tried taking pictures… and viola!~ the birth of whoiselyoo. (as for the name, it was my last option because everything I wanted was already taken) I’m also an avid reader of fashion blogs and I just thought it would be a nice idea to start mine.
Who are your style icons?
I have tons of them, but the top 3 would be: Coco Chanel, Isabella Blow and Carrie Bradshaw (Sex And The City)!
An essential on every girl’s wardrobe?
The perfect little black dress, perfect pair of jeans and black pumps. (I’m still in search for these, btw!)
What influences your style?
Hmmm. I’m easily influenced by everything really! My mood swings. Movies. Music. Weather. Other people.
Trend that you would want to have a comeback?
Boho chic trend!!!
What never gets out of style?
Style never gets out of style. Don’t make trends guide you on what to wear. Make your personal style guide you on what to wear and what trends to follow.
Biggest splurge?
Hmmm. My biggest splurge would be my camera! Haha! As for clothes, I don’t really have anything in my closet that is reeeally expensive. If I love something that is expensive, I would just try to make one for myself or look around for a cheaper alternative. But if you’ll give me money right now to splurge on anything, I would probably buy tons of Chloe shoes!
Best place to shop?
If you have patience and an eagle eye for wonderful finds, definitely try ukay-ukay shops around the metro! I’m also a fan of ‘closet shopping’ meaning, looking in your closet for those “oh, I forgot I had those” pieces. But if you really have to, one of my favorite shops at the mall are: Zara and Promod for clothes and SM/Landmark department stores for accessories! Fashion is not having all the ‘it’ things from designers. Just play around with your clothes and have fun!

Flying a kite was never this stylish!
“Everyday I’m constantly growing, and learning not only about fashion, but also myself.”
-Amy Nelson @ Flyingakite.blogspot.com :)
Anyway, here’s a feature about a 16yearold girl from Calgary, Alberta, Canada named Amy. :) I found her site when one of my favorite bloggers was talking about her and was inspired by her style, so I, like any curious girl, clicked the link and found myself at Flyingakite.com, which was filled with her fabulous floral/vintage clothes and adorable boots. She started her blog around December 7 2008 and she already recieved 1,376+ views! (That’s just in 1month & 4 days!)
Now let’s move on to my Q&A portion with Amy!
What made you start a blog?
I was inspired a couple of months ago to create a blog after searching, and stumbling across other fashion websites, and blogs. I’ve always had a passion for writing, and recently have become occupied with a love for clothes, and style. Because of my homeschooling, and the fact that I’ve been in the midst of a move for months now, I never got to leave my house. I still continued to shop, and love fashion, but felt little purpose. So I created this blog. It’s been only 1 month, and I am beyond thrilled that I’ve already gotten a lovely response from readers.
Style icons?
Fashion bloggers. All of them. The popular, and unpopular ones. I am always reading fashion blogs, and learning things. I especially love blogs that teach you how to wear something in a unconventional way, but the biggest style icons to me are the people in old movies, and in old photographs. I love the way the world “used” to dress.
What influences your style?
Nature. I love florals, and earthy outfits. I am also inspired by art. I love wearing colors that I’ve seen in a painting. Sometimes I’ll look at a piece of art and instantly my brain will come up with a new outfit I’d like to wear. I also spend hours in front of my full length mirror, trying on different outfits, and accessories. I am always searching for ways to wear an outfit differently than the time before. I try take anything basic, and make it into something that’s not traditional. Everyday I’m constantly growing, and learning not only about fashion, but also myself.
Trend that you want to have a comeback?
Poodle skirts, sweater sets, think 1950’s sock hop. I would love to see more girls go back to their childhood and dress the way their mothers dressed them, think beautifully colored frocks, patterned tights, bows, brightly colored overalls, think femininity.
Fashion essential?
Uhm… Oh! an adjustable belt! You can wear it on your hips, your waist, your head. Wherever you’d like, as long as it’s adjustable. A belt helps you wear the same outfit five different ways. Same goes for scarves.
What never goes out of style?
A black/navy fitted blazer, creativity, and a BIG SMILE.
Biggest splurge?
I bought these $ 140 suede fringe boots. It was such an impulse buy. Sometimes I lose sleep because I regret the purchase. I just think that’s way too much for a pair of boots you only “like”.
The Or questions
Bare or Made-up? Bare
Skirt or pants? Skirt
The Mary Kate Olsen style or the Audrey Hepburn style?
Audrey Hepburn. Simple, Classic, Chic.
With heels or without heels? With.
Shorts or pants? Pants, even though I only wear them in the cold months.
Magazines or blogs? Blogs
Thrift stores or branded stores? Thrift stores!
——————————————————————————————————————
And as she said, a big smile NEVER goes out of style. True to her word, you can see that adorable, warm, big smile on her site.

P.S THANKYOU AMY for giving me a chance to ask you some questions! :)
P.P.S. I’m so sorry! It’s been a while since I updated. It’s a little hectic in school, I’ve been sick and my computer is not working properly. Since I’ve been begging my mom the whole week about my computer she let me use her computer. Just today.

Oh so Vintage!
“A cheapskate and a spender rolled into one”
-AJ, vintagepetite.blogspot.com
First and foremost, I would like to share how I found this fabulous fashion blogger and her blog. First I was browsing Chictopia.com, and started to find a Filipina in the midst of this American-filled site. Then I saw her profile. Boom! And in a snap, I followed her blog. And I was not disappointed.
AJ Pangilinan is a 18yearold, Manila girl college student from UA&P (Unviversity of Asia and the Pacific -Ed.) , who have always wrote and wrote through her four blogs but as of now she deleted her other blogs and just maintained her fabulous fashion blog, Vintagepetite.com. Her fashion style are always trendy yet comfortable and too fabulous for school!
Now let’s move on to our Q&A with Ms. AJ! :)
What made you start a blog?
It wasn’t anything life-altering. I simply love writing and fashion. Through my blog I can do both, so I deleted all my four personal blogs and just concentarted on VP.
Your style icons?
The French Vogue team (namely Alt and Roitfeld), Olsen twins and style bloggers.
What influences your style?
Anything and everything. Be it on the streets of Manila, the latest flick I went crazy over, even the music in my ipod! And of course Vogue, it doesn’t hurt to have a bit of structure that real fashion folks agree upon.
Trend that you want to have a comeback?
Hmmm, this is a hard one! Can’t think of anything! HAHAHA :)
Fashion essential?
Statement bag, statement shoes, and statement rings.Anything that makes impact. (That’s a whole lot of statement! HAHA :) -Ed.)
What never goes out of style?
A black and white ensemble and I suppose a Chanel 2.55 :) (FYI: Did you know that the original Chanel 2.55 didn’t really have a interlocking C and it also didn’t sold a lot? Luckily, the fabulous Coco Chanel decided to update the handbag which was released February 1955 that resulted to the name of the bag, 2.55 :) -Ed. )
Biggest splurge?
A Marc by Marc Jacobs bag that I bought on my recent trip to Hongkong.
Best thrifted stuff?
A plaid shirt-slash-beach cover up that I got from a thrift store in Edsa.
The Or questions
Bare or Made-up?
Bare.
Dress or pants?
Both :) Haha.
Hippie style or Gossip Girl style?
Both again, sorry Esme, these “or questions” are so hard! :)
Stilletos or boots?
Stilettos. I can’t live without height, although its not practical to wear one in school!
Shorts or pants?
Pants.
Magazines or blogs?
Blogs. If this was asked to me three years ago I’d say “magazine” in a heartbeat. But times have changed and magazines are getting terribly expensive or hard to get hold of (Sadly, Manila has limited magazine options).
Thrift stores or branded stores?
Both again. Hahaha. I’m a cheapskate and a spender rolled into one (if that’s even possible. Haha)
Wow, did you know that I said fabulous 3 or more times? HAHA :) And that is the exact word to describe this fashion blogger, FABULOUS!

PEACE is what we aim for
Messy Hair Loves:
Ramona “Mona” Ancheta, who’s now living in Canada, is a sweet Philippine native 16 years old. The first thing you’ll see when you look at her is her warm smile, then you’ll move on and look on her clothes. Afterthen, you’ll realize the answer on why the hell she’s smiling about. :)
She caught my attention since (well I started noticing her outfits during the time she’s still here in the Philippines, lol) she posted some of her outfits from H&M that she bought during her first Christmas eve out of the Philippines. All I can say is “WOW”. And can you believe it, she made that “FILIPINA” shirt! Talk about saying it out proud and out loud!
During the time I had a chance to ask our Canadian Representative who is (well she answered a lot of people, lol) her style icon, she stated Nicole Richie and other personalitites who has their chic-bohemian looks plus she doesn’t really like Agyness Deyn, maybe because of the chic-streetsyle look, haha.Well, I’m not offended about it, but one thing I’m sure of: this girl can definitely pull any style off! :) Now, let’s move on to the Q&A portion. :)
Trend that you want to have a comeback: “The hippie style. during the 1960’s with the big elephant pants, high waist skirts, braids, super long hair, and peace! hahaha. :))”
Biggest splurge: “Biggest splurge would probably be buying tons of clothes in H&M. I spent over a hundred dollars!”
Best thifted: 1.bag: “My black with gold chain bag. it’s like a design of Chanel but it’s not. and the funny thing is, the pendant in the middle says “M” (for Mona -Ed.), so it’s perfect for me!”
2.piece of clothing: “That would probably be all the thift store dresses that I have purchased. Everyone adores it and it’s so unique!”
3.shoes: “Well, i found the cutest leopard print high heels! I still wear it. hahaha.
Your style icon? “Oh no!!! This is going to be a lot. Sorry, Esme! hahaha. I like the style of Nicole Richie, the other half of the Olsen twins, Mary-kate Olsen, Whitney Port, Drew Barrymore, and Kate Hudson. I just simply love their style. it’s so “hippie meets downtown chick”! Ohh and I really do not like Agyness Deyn. SORRRRRRYYY. hahahahahaha.”
Fashion essential: “A good pair of leather jacket. it’s a thing every fashionista must have. It totally vamps your look in seconds.”
2 essential part of your life: “Having the eye to see what is good and what is not good and the confidence (it may sound a cliche but it is sooo true)”
What never goes out of style? “THE BLACK DRESS (popularized by the forever fashion icon, THE Audrey Hepburn. -Ed.). everyone needs that! It’s a girl’s must have in her closet. :)”
Ahh, words that really came from a chic-fashionista. Watch out for this girl, people!
Note:
I’m still in line on asking Ms. AJ of Vintage Petite for a Q&A portion, haha. She’s out of town, maybe when she comes back I ca interview her. :) And Ms. Amy of Flyingakite.com, also. Watch out for that! :)
